It's been close to quarter of a century since I have left school now, but whenever any respected teacher or my batchmate or any junior from school addresses me as HEAD BOY,I get teleported back to time and everything starts to roll back as it happened only yesterday . Memories ,Friends and the values one acquires in that time zone defines one's character and becomes an everlasting source of happiness throughout one's life.Morning assembly, Attendance by class teacher,9 Periods each week, Recess , Sharing of tiffins amongst friends,School bell ringing after each important event each day , Game Periods,Library Periods ( Getting books issued from library ) ,Hustle at the boys toilet room after every period ( especially when we were teenagers) ,Light days on every Saturday , Tons of extra co curricular activities, waiting for the School bus, Exams, Results ,Parent teacher meetings,Annual Day, Sports day, Foundation Day ,Teachers day ( I vividly remember I was the Principal of the school for one day on 05/09/2000) and each and every second of the school days at DPS V are a precious treasure and deeply embedded in the most secure vault in my heart.
I sometimes feel, personality of all the great visionary teachers at DPSV have rubbed on to me and I also carry an iota of the essence of all my Gurus in me which gives me lot of courage and excitement at the same time.
Like a very very nostalgic soul,I can write volumes of literature on my school days but I am certain that no amount of verbose writing can truly bring out the actual feeling which I have for my almamater and whenever I hear DPSV or look back to circa 1997 to 2001,I see a young man wearing a green tie with DPSV school uniform, standing in his class Line each morning and reciting in his full volume with his chin up, head held high and a lot of ambition : WE ARE OF DPS ,WE ARE FOR DPS.
